Welcome to Blue Notes

Bellevue Times | Welcome to Blue Notes | May 9, 2024

Welcome to Blue Notes – the Bellevue Police Department’s (BPD) inaugural BellevueTimes.com article. I am thankful to Garrett Sims and the BellevueTimes.com for providing this venue for people to stay connected to their Police Department. Our goal is to provide new content on this site monthly – at a minimum.

With the 2020 Census results back, Bellevue has grown at an impressive rate over the last ten years – growing 28% from 50,137 (2010 census) to 64,176 (2020 census). With this growth, the police department must also grow to meet the needs of our ever-growing community. One focus of our future article submissions will be to outline growth of the Department, as well as other happenings within.

As our Mission Statement reads, “we are a proud and dedicated group of men and women committed to enforcing the law and serving our community’s public safety needs.” We are honored to serve Bellevue, and are dedicated to providing service with integrity and courage. Having said that, we hope to utilize this venue to provide periodic safety tips, or identified crime trends to be aware of.

BPD is also extremely active regarding community engagement – with over 30 events annually. This venue will be utilized to keep you updated on upcoming events, including everything from our Cop’s and Bobbers event to National Night Out. We strive to maintain open lines of communication, foster an atmosphere of transparency, and work collaboratively in order to meet the needs of the community. We believe these future articles will be an excellent way to foster that communication.
