New Year, New Books!

Bellevue Times | New Year, New Books! | May 8, 2024

Start the new year right with new books from authors both favorite and new. Visit your Bellevue Public Library for everything from cozy mysteries to icy thrillers, from deadly milkshakes to Cold War regrets.

Just hitting the shelves, Irish Milkshake Murder contains three festive whodunits. There is more than liquor in one milkshake at a hen and stag party in Irish Milkshake Murder by Carlene O’Connor. A luncheonette serves up a killer shake amidst a sheep parade in Murder Most Irish by Peggy Ehrhart. In Mrs. Claus and the Luckless Leprechaun by Liz Ireland, April Claus and friends are enjoying their hard-earned rest with the holidays done, when an elf is poisoned by a green milkshake. Could it really be attempted murder?

The Oxygen Farmer by Colin Holmes follows Millennium Harrison, an ornery oxygen farmer on the moon who accidentally finds an undisclosed facility with a terrible secret. A secret that could undo all the Earth, the moon, and the mission to Mars.

The ever-popular Danielle Steel is back with Upside Down. Unexpected flickers of romance in the lives of an estranged mother and daughter turn everything they know topsy-turvy. The mother Ardith finds herself falling for her young personal assistant, while her daughter Morgan falls for an older reporter. Can they overcome their troubled pasts, find love and, perhaps, reconnect with each other?

In Cold Victory by Karl Marlantes, a friendly challenge at an embassy party takes a dark turn under the shadow of Stalinism. A quiet cross-country skiing race between military attachés explodes into a collision between the Soviet Union and the West after an innocent idea to raise money for charity goes terribly wrong.
