Sarpy Hosting Voter Registration Event at New Bellevue Library

The Sarpy County Election Commission will host a voter registration event at the Bellevue Public Library, one of the county’s  drop box sites, on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Voters can update their registration or fill out an early voting application for the upcoming general election at the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event aligns with National Voter Registration Day. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The library at 2206 Longo Drive is a new drop box site in Sarpy County. It provides drop-box service formerly available at the old Bellevue library. Find all the county’s seven secure drop boxes at Sarpy.gov/elections.

Key dates to know ahead of the 2026 General Election

• Tuesday, Sept. 15 – Sarpy County Election Commission voter registration event at the Bellevue Public Library from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

• Friday, Sept. 25 – All ballot drop boxes open in Sarpy County. 

• Monday, Sept. 28 – Election Commission begins mailing early ballots. 

• Monday, Oct. 5 – Early voting begins at the Election Commission at the 1102 Building, 1102 E. 1st St. in  Papillion, through Monday, Nov. 2. 

• Friday, Oct. 16 – Deadline to register to vote in the general election, if registering by mail, at the DMV and via an outside organization.  

• Friday, Oct. 23 – Deadline to register to vote in person at the Election Commission Office. Deadline to accept an application for early voting ballots to be mailed.  

• Tuesday, Nov. 3 – General Election.

“Your voice matters, and that’s why we’re holding this event in recognition of National Voter Registration Day,” said David  Jones, Sarpy County Election Commissioner. “Our office is ready to make sure you’re registered to vote, update your  information if needed and share upcoming election deadlines so that you’re prepared for the 2026 Nebraska Statewide  General Election.”
