Obituary: In Memory of Edgar W. Brewer, Jr. MSgt USAF (Ret)

Edgar W. Brewer, Jr. MSgt USAF (Ret), January 5, 1940 ~ July 24, 2025, Age 85

Edgar W. Brewer Jr (Bill) passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his Bellevue home on July 24, 2025.  A loving family provider and adoring husband. He enjoyed his private, quiet life being a skilled craftsman, outdoor sportsman, animal lover, computer technician and avid reader. Serving 26 years in the Air Force, retiring as a Master Sargent. After retirement he became an Electronic Technician for the Post Office.

While stationed in Seoul, South Korea, he met his wife, Sun Ki. In 1980, they moved to Bellevue where they attended church, made friends, and enjoyed raising their family together.  

Preceded in death by his parents Edgar Sr, Mary Brewer and sister, Elsie Wells.

Survived by his wife, Sun, of nearly 50 years and children Lenda Brewer, Daniel Brewer, Rachel Witmer (ex daughter-in-law), Edgar W. Brewer III, Pam Hanes and Tealy Howard, grandchildren Casey Brewer, Ashley Cardona, Melody Vasquez Diaz, Jeffrey Vasquez Diaz (grandson-in-law) Bobbie Brewer and James Brewer, including several great grandchildren. Along with his sister Kathleen Lechner, Herman Lechner, brother-in-law, brother, Larry Brewer, sister-in-law Sandy Sus with numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered fondly by his Missouri family as Uncle Bill. Born in Springfield, MO and military honored near Springfield, NE.

Visitation: Saturday, August 2, 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by

Memorial Mass:  at 11:00 a.m., both at St. Mary’s of Bellevue Catholic Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue, NE
