Cynthia, born in Ionia, Michigan, September 21, 1939, passed peacefully away in Steamboat Springs, CO surrounded by family members on July 1, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edlin and Olive Sweet, brothers-in-law: Jim Kline, Russ Denker, David Parish, Paul Appel, Dale Berger, and nephew: Kurt Fineis.
Survived by her Husband of 65 years, William Powers, and children: son, Bill Powers, Jr.; daughters, Karen Wolf (Mark) and Krista Brown (Todd); and grandchildren: Justin Wolf (Ana), Jacob Wolf, Megan Brown, and Madison Brown. Sisters: Sue Berger, Cathy Fineis, and Joan Parish; sister-in-law Bett Triick (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Ionia High School in 1957, received a Cum-Laude BS Degree in Speech Pathology from Michigan State in 1960, and a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1986.
She lived in Ionia, MI; Oak Lawn, IL; Royal Oak, MI; Aurora, OH; Newmarket, Ont; Bellevue, NE; and Steamboat Springs, CO.
