Morrie’s Auto Group to Celebrate Grand Opening of Bellevue Dealerships June 27
Just weeks after the transition from Beardmore Chevrolet, Subaru and Hyundai to Morrie’s Auto Group ownership, the company is inviting the community to help celebrate its official grand opening later this month.
The event will take place Saturday, June 27, from noon to 3 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Morrie’s Bellevue Subaru location. Activities will be held at both the shared Chevrolet/Subaru campus and the Hyundai dealership.
According to Doug Christensen, campus general manager for Morrie’s Bellevue dealerships, the event is designed as a community celebration.
“The event is very family-oriented,” Christensen said. “We will be providing free lunch from local food trucks, prizes and giveaways, and family fun with a bounce house, yard games, and more.”
Visitors will also have the opportunity to enter prize drawings for items including a Yeti cooler and a vehicle detailing package. Morrie’s is also offering $500 off the purchase of a vehicle during the grand opening event.
A Midwest Company with Similar Values
Morrie’s Auto Group traces its roots to Minneapolis, where the company was founded in 1960. Since then, it has expanded to 32 dealerships representing 18 automotive brands across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and now Nebraska.
Christensen said one of the reasons Morrie’s was a good fit for former owners Brian and Carey Hamilton was the alignment between the two organizations’ values and approach to customer service.
“What made Morrie’s such a natural fit for Brian and Carey is the culture and values behind the company,” Christensen said. “Morrie’s has always been very people-focused, and that was something Brian and Carey deeply valued throughout the years they built the Beardmore dealerships.”
He noted that Morrie’s emphasizes values including integrity, humility, curiosity and community involvement, which closely match the principles that guided the Beardmore dealerships for decades.
Familiar Faces, New Benefits
For longtime customers, Christensen said much of what they have come to expect remains unchanged.
“The people they know and trust are still here,” he said. “The same team, the same relationships, and the same commitment to taking care of customers hasn’t changed.”
At the same time, customers will gain access to additional benefits through Morrie’s, including the company’s MoreCare program, which provides complimentary first-year maintenance on new vehicles and a complimentary powertrain warranty on used vehicles.
The company also promotes what it calls the “Morrie’s Promise,” which includes transparent pricing, commission-free sales guidance, service integrity and customer education throughout the vehicle ownership process.
A Smooth Transition
Christensen said one of the most pleasant surprises during the ownership transition has been how closely the two organizations operate.
“Honestly, one of the biggest surprises has been realizing just how similar we are in the way we do business and take care of people,” Christensen said. “From the very beginning, it felt like there was a shared mindset and approach, which made the transition feel very natural.”
He added that Morrie’s plans to continue supporting many of the same local organizations, events and causes that were important to the Beardmore family.
“Morrie’s understands that being part of a community means more than just selling and servicing vehicles,” Christensen said. “It’s about showing up and taking care of the people around you.”
Employment Opportunities
Christensen said Morrie’s continues to hire, particularly for automotive technician positions, and encourages interested applicants to visit the individual dealership websites for current openings.
Sales departments at all three Bellevue dealerships are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Service departments are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
