Midlands Community Foundation (MCF) has awarded grants totaling $75,381 to 21 non-profit organizations serving Sarpy and Cass counties including:

  • The American Legion Frisbe-Eidenmiller-McCaig Post 247 – $5,000
  • American Reforestation Initiative – $2,500
  • Bellevue Library Foundation – $3,800
  • Chicano Awareness Center/Latino Center of the Midlands – $2,500
  • Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands – $2,000
  • Leonard Conely Unit 216 American Legion Auxiliary Department of Nebraska – $2,400
  • Lofte Association/Lofte Community Theater – $3,500
  • Mercy Housing Midwest – $6,500
  • Merrymakers Association – $3,500
  • Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries – $3,500
  • Nebraska Memorial Forest Fund – $2,500
  • Papillion LaVista Arts Network – $1,500
  • Partners for Livable Omaha/Omaha Outdoor Mobile Stage – $2,500
  • Patriotic Productions – $2,500
  • Plattsmouth EMS – $4,800
  • Share A Fare, Inc. – $3,000
  • Sheltering Tree – $4,581
  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace – $7,500
  • Special Olympics Nebraska Inc. – $2,000
  • Springfield Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Inc. – $4,800
  • Wildlife Learning Encounters – $4,500

The grants will support a variety of programs and initiatives in MCF’s areas of focus including arts, community and economic development, education, health, and human services.

This is the second of two grant distributions for Midlands Community Foundation’s fiscal year. The next grant deadline will be August 1, 2024, with funds distributed in October.

The mission of Midlands Community Foundation is to be a catalyst for lasting impact in Sarpy and Cass counties and to give opportunities to organizations and individuals so that they can pursue their charitable goals.
