Have a Legendary Summer with Your Family at Bellevue Public Library
Are you ready to make this summer one of epic adventure? The best place to start is the Bellevue Public Library! The Youth Services Department is working hard to ensure this summer is bursting with exploration, creativity, and, of course, reading!
This year’s Summer Library Program, “Mythical Creatures and Legends,” has something for everyone in the family, with activities for pre-readers, school-aged kids, and teens. Registration for the Children’s Summer Library Program is open now! QR codes are located in the Children’s area, or you can visit https://bit.ly/SLP2026BPL.
The Summer Library Program will run from June 1st through July 31st. A full calendar of June and July events inspired by mythical creatures and legends will be available for young adventurers to pick up on May 15.
Starting May 31st, kids can stop by the Youth Service’s area to receive their quest tracker and start their quest. As they embark on their journey, they’ll earn weekly prizes not only for reading, but for attending library programs, playing outside, crafting, acts of kindness, and more. Kids who complete all nine quests may enter to win a Meta Quest 3S all-in-one virtual and mixed reality headset.
The summer calendar will include year-round beloved programs such as Kids in the Kitchen, Maker Lab, Coloring with First Responders, Storytime, Pre-K STEAM, and Choose Your Own Adventure Book Club.
But there will be several new programs taking place! For ages 0–5, new programs include Rainbow Dance Party, Gruffalo Pudding Painting, Unicorn and Dragon Paper Plate Crafts, and Play-Doh drop-in programs.
New events for K–6th graders include Pizza and a Movie, Book Wizards Book Club, How to Train Your Dragon Jigsaw Tournament, and more.
There will also be presentations from special guests, including The LEGO Guy, Wildlife Encounters, Science Heroes, and Dragon’s Treasure Training with Navy Federal Credit Union and Jimmy John’s!
Last but not least, our Summer Library Program will conclude with a grand finale presented by magician, Jeff Quinn!
All events are free and open to the public; no library card is required.
Please note that some events require registration. These events are written in blue on our physical calendars. You can register for events on our website at bellevue.net/176/Library or by scanning the QR code on calendars. Registration for June programs opens Saturday, May 23rd, and registration for July programs opens Saturday, June 20th.
Don’t settle for a normal summer! Come to Bellevue Public Library, where boredom is defeated and dragons, merfolk, and library fun await.
