Bellevue residents were forced out of their homes after a fire destroyed several units at the Country Estates Apartments last week. Now, some of those displaced are turning to neighbors and strangers in hopes of replacing their destroyed belongings. At least two GoFundMe fundraisers and a third fundraiser for four student-athletes at Bellevue University have been established for victims of the blaze.
This plea for assistance was shared across social media this week. It is in regard to four student-athletes at Bellevue University who lost everything in the fire.
Help Student-Athletes Affected by Fire
We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share news of a devastating fire that has impacted the lives of four student-athletes. As a result of the fire, these young individuals lost all their belongings.
We are asking for your support in helping these student-athletes get back on their feet after losing everything apart from the clothes they had for practice. Any furniture, clothing, beds, bedding, kitchen items, and/or miscellaneous donations would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, any monetary donations would go a long way in helping cover the costs of replacing lost items and providing for these students’ basic needs.
We know that our community is strong and caring, and we are confident that with your help, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these student-athletes. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will go directly toward supporting these individuals during this difficult time. Donations and contributions can be made and/or dropped off at office number #1403 at 2014 Harvell Cir, Bellevue, NE 68005.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
Mark Heath-Preston and Scott Robertson
