Tragic Fall Claims Life of Roofer at Gross Catholic High School
On Monday, October 28th, at approximately 11:13 am, the Bellevue Police Department and Bellevue Fire Department were dispatched to Gross Catholic High School for a rescue call, due to a report of a roofing worker falling from the roof. Officers and rescue personnel located 24-year-old Sander Gonzalez-Munoz in critical condition on the floor of a school gymnasium. Life-saving measures were attempted, and Gonzalez-Munoz was transported to an area hospital; however, he was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
The investigation indicated that Gonzalez-Munoz was working for a roofing company, Titan Pro Roofing, on the roof of Gross Catholic High School when he stepped onto a skylight, which broke, causing Gonzalez-Munoz to fall more than 20 feet to the ground inside the gym below. Preliminary investigation indicates this was likely an accidental death.
No Gross Catholic High School students or employees were involved or injured in this incident.
Gross Catholic High School has set up a fund to support the Gonzalez-Munoz Family. For more information, contact GCHS Director of Communications Mark McNamara at [email protected].
