Sarpy County Resumes Year-Round Testing of Outdoor Warning Siren System

Bellevue Times | Sarpy County Resumes Year-Round Testing of Outdoor Warning Siren System | November 6, 2024

Sarpy County is resuming year-round testing of its outdoor warning siren system, effective this month.

Today, Wednesday, November 6th, test sirens will be heard throughout Bellevue and the rest of Sarpy County at 11:00am.

For the past several years, the county has only conducted monthly tests from March through October. The tests are at 11 a.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.

“The service center for our sirens has recommended that we return to year-round testing,” said Jesse Eret, Director of the Sarpy County Emergency Management Agency. “This practice will ensure the integrity of our system, and we want the public to be aware.”

Sarpy County recently modernized the outdoor siren system with leading alert technology. Visit www.sarpy.gov/alerts to learn more about emergency alerts and warning systems.
