Jerome (JR) Richardson was awarded the Ethical Leadership and Service Award as determined by Bellevue University’s Ethical Insights Committee during the faculty meeting held in December.

Richardson is the Director of the Military Veteran Services Center (MVSC) for Bellevue University. He played an instrumental part in the development and opening of the Center in 2012. Over the years, Richardson has actively engaged in community outreach to help establish a variety of services dedicated to help not only Bellevue University student veterans, but all veterans in the community, regardless of their status. He is a tireless advocate for the ethical treatment of all veterans. He has spearheaded several community projects serving veterans, including: Douglas County Veterans Court, Sarpy County Mental Health Diversion and many others.

Ethical Insights is a faculty-driven initiative which fosters the teaching and learning of ethics across the colleges at Bellevue University. The ethics award is given to a community member or student for outstanding leadership in ethics as demonstrated by professional and community service.
