After a few days of training, Penn Station East Coast Subs officially opened their doors at the Bellevue location today. The first customers in line included Bellevue Mayor Rusty Hike, City Administrator Jim Ristow, and Chamber of Commerce President Diane Bruce.
Penn Station is located at 10531 South 15th Street in Wolf Creek Plaza, next to Verizon and GameStop.
Talking with franchise co-owners Kieran Fetter and James Wagner, they shared details about what makes Penn Station East Coast Subs unique. The restaurant’s best-seller is the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The lemonade is made on-site using hand-squeezed lemons and the fries are also made using hand-picked potatoes cut and cooked on-site. Bottles of malt vinegar are available in the condiments section to use on the fries and steak seasoning is available upon request. Penn Station uses name brand and private label products for all of their signature items.
“Ownership has been working on this for the better part of four years, always wanting to be a part of Bellevue,” said City Administrator Jim Ristow. “We are excited they are here and think the public is going to love what they see.”
Tuesdays at Penn Station are better known as Cookie Tuesdays. Cookies are fresh-baked in the morning and throughout the day each customer receives a complimentary cookie bite with each sub they order.
Just about everything at Penn Station is served a la carte. However, they offer a special each month with fries and a drink. For September the Monthly Special is a choice between two different sandwiches: Ham & Swiss or Turkey & Provolone.
Penn Station offers a military discount and they have an E-Club with special rewards offered for signing up.
Penn Station East Coast Subs is also partnered with the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network. Their mission is to ensure that more children with Down syndrome have the opportunity to grow up in a loving family. The partnership began in 2014 and over that time, Penn Station and its customers have donated more than $600,000 to the NDSAN.
Mayor Rusty Hike visited Penn Station for their opening, “It’s great to have another top-notch restaurant choice in town with great food, service, and atmosphere.”
Penn Station East Coast Subs is open seven days a week: Monday-Saturday from 10:30am-10:00pm and Sundays from 10:30am-9:00pm. For delivery, they are partnered with the three big delivery services: Uber Eats, GrubHub, and DoorDash – and they also use Dinova and ezCater for catering services.
