As it is getting colder, the City of Bellevue Parks and Recreation Department would like to highlight the 2024 projects you might have seen this year and inform you of some 2025 projects. First, we would like to thank all the participants, parents, volunteers, employees, and sponsors who helped make 2024 a great year. The list below is of the projects that were completed this year. 

2024 Highlights

  • Swanson Park Shelter
  • Everett Park Shelter
  • Everett Park Playgrounds
  • Aspen Playgrounds
  • Two Springs Toddler Playgrounds
  • Haworth Ballfields Shelter
  • Stonecroft Bathrooms
  • Washington Bathrooms
  • Trail Renovation at College Heights and Twin Ridge II
  • Approximately 2,000 rainbow trout were stocked ranging mostly from 10-12 inches in American Heroes Park Lake by the State Game and Parks Commission
  • Tennis Court Repairs – McCann, Everett, Stonecroft & Goldenrod
  • Baldwin Fields Fencing
  • Baldwin #1 Warning Track Resurface
  • Reed Center Retaining Wall
  • Haworth Ballfields Retaining Wall
  • The Recreation Department received the Nebraska Tennis Association USTA Junior Tennis Tournament of the Year. 

2025 Preview

As we look forward to 2025, we are excited to announce a few projects you will see next year. New pickleball courts at Everett Park, the demolition of Aspen Park Pool, an 18-hole disc golf course at Aspen Park, trail renovation at Willow Springs Park, the New Playground Structure and Picnic Shelter at American Heroes Park. This inclusive playground at American Heroes Park will be the only one of its kind within Douglas and Sarpy County. It will be suitable for all ages! 

The mission of The Bellevue Parks and Recreation Department is to continue enhancing Bellevue’s quality of life through recreational programs and welcoming parks. Please help us with our mission by filling the Bellevue meaning, “A beautiful view.”
