Offutt Air Force Base Runway Construction Video Update

Bellevue Nebraska Offutt Air Force Base Runway Construction Update

Rob Hufford, Chief of Construction Management with the 55th Civil Engineers Squadron, provides video updates over the past four months on the Offutt Air Force Base runway construction project. In the videos, Hufford mentions that the project is still running on time and on budget. All three videos give a great inside look at various stages of the progress of the runway.

In the most current update, Hufford mentions that the concrete pours are completed and the asphalt placements will be finished soon. Grooving of the runway has also begun, while they continue to place cans for the runway lighting.

In the May update, Hufford says that all the main line concrete for the runway portion of the project has been poured. The majority of the asphalt has been placed for the first lift. Hufford also mentions that the Air Force Flight Standards Agency has made a visit to start the certification process to reopen the runway!

In the April update, Hufford mentions that with the light winter the crews were able to get a jump start on a lot of work with both concrete and asphalt pavement going down.
