Nettie’s Changes Course, Restaurant Will Not Reopen
Contrary to reports earlier this year in the Bellevue Times, longtime Bellevue and South Omaha favorite Nettie’s Restaurant will not reopen. Nettie’s Restaurant burned down on December 23, 2022. Initially, the hope was to rebuild a new Nettie’s Restaurant on the land. Plans were drawn up, estimates were given, and the land was rezoned. To not rebuild was an extremely difficult decision for the Nettie’s Family, but in the end the expense was too much. “The actual cost ended up being much more than the original estimate we were given (to rebuild),” said Nettie’s co-owners Michael and Kathy Boyles.
The family put the land at 7110 Railroad Avenue up for sale with an asking price of $150,000 and it didn’t take long for an offer to be made. That offer is currently pending.
Both Kathy and Michael expressed how tough of a decision this was for them, “We loved meeting and serving our loyal customers over the years. They and the restaurant were our life and we miss them all so much. We are heartbroken that things ended the way they did!”
