Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles Experience, Omaha’s beloved holiday tradition, returns to the Slowdown from November 29 through December 29. Since its inception in 2007, this one-of-a-kind show has brought families and friends together to share in the joy of music, memories, and connection.

Created by Billy, Matthew, and Ryan McGuigan as a tribute to their late father, Yesterday and Today transforms each performance into a unique, interactive celebration. The McGuigan brothers invite audience members to fill out request cards with their favorite Beatles songs and the stories behind their choices. Minutes before the show begins, these requests shape the setlist, making every performance deeply personal and unpredictable.

Billy McGuigan graduated from Bellevue East High School in 1993.

“For us, it’s not just about the music of The Beatles,” says Billy McGuigan. “It’s about the connections people make – with the music, their memories, and with each other. This show is a way for everyone to come together, especially during the holidays.”

A Tradition for All Ages

Opening on Black Friday, Yesterday, and Today is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Families, friends, and Beatles fans of all generations can enjoy this interactive experience in the lively, all-ages rock club atmosphere of the Slowdown. Whether it’s your first time or a yearly tradition, the show’s mix of heartfelt stories, timeless music, and holiday spirit makes it a must-see event.

An Award-Winning Legacy

This record-breaking show has earned critical acclaim, including an Omaha Entertainment & Arts Award, and remains a favorite across the country. The McGuigan Brothers have taken their creation from the heart of Omaha to sold-out venues nationwide, headlining stages in Las Vegas and even performing on the historic Paramount Lot in Hollywood.

Beatle Interactions

Over the years, the McGuigan brothers have had some memorable encounters with Beatles legends and those close to them. Here are a few standout moments:

Paul McCartney’s Thumbs Up: During a concert, Paul McCartney pointed to Billy McGuigan in the audience and gave him a thumbs up after seeing Billy’s sign that read “I Named My Daughter Cartney After Sir Paul”.

A Proud Moment with Giles Martin: After seeing LOVE in Las Vegas, Matthew McGuigan ran into Giles Martin (son of Beatles producer George Martin) and told him, “Nice job! Your dad would be proud.” They shared a handshake, a moment of mutual respect for The Beatles’ legacy.

Ringo Starr’s Quick Wit: At a Ringo’s concert at the Astro in September, Billy McGuigan shouted, “You’re the greatest, Ringo!” To which Ringo replied, “I am!”
