Updated List of Vendors Included
This Saturday, March 9th, marks the eagerly awaited annual Lied Activity Center Spring Craft Fair. Since its inception in 2016 this event has grown each year, transforming into a premier gathering and solidifying its status as one of the largest of its kind not only in Sarpy County but across the entire Omaha-Metro area.
The upcoming fair boasts over 120 diverse vendors occupying 166 booth spaces – setting a new record for their largest spring fair yet.
Christina Gesser took over as event planner for the Lied Activity Center Craft Fair in the Fall of 2022. This marks her fourth LAC Craft Fair, and she said she has learned a lot from her previous experiences. “I have learned that organization is a must for a smooth event, ” Gesser said. “I’ve also been amazed at the number of people interested in becoming vendors!”
Gesser estimated that around 50 of the vendors are new to the LAC Craft Fair this spring. “We had 85 booths at that first craft fair, and now we have nearly doubled the amount of vendor spaces.”
Gesser talked about the new vendors and the unique variety of offerings they each bring to the craft fair. A few that came to mind as we were talking include Dan Morse Art, who sells ink and watercolor architectural drawings and home commissions; Golden Road Boutique + Hat Bar, who sell custom hats, wide brim, cowboys, truckers, and hat accessories; and Secretly Addicted, which sells a unique variety of women’s clothing such as jeans, shirts, dresses, and blazers.
The Lied Activity Center 2024 Spring Craft Fair is on Saturday, March 9 from 9am-3pm. The Lied Activity Center is located at 2700 Arboretum Drive on the Bellevue Public Schools campus, near Fort Crook Road and Highway 370.
The LAC Spring Craft Fair will be offering a wide variety of items including jewelry, home decor, boutique clothing, sewn, crocheted, and knitted items, paintings, drawings, art, garden decor, cards, journals, holiday decor, health & wellness, candles & wax warmers, pet accessories, and food, snacks, and desserts.
They currently have several hot food vendors offering Mexican food, BBQ, and Thai. Other vendors will be offering snacks, desserts, fresh coffee and teas, and donuts.
It is a good idea to come prepared with multiple ways to pay for purchases. While some vendors accept debit and credit cards, some are cash only and there is no ATM available at the event. Each vendor is given the flexibility to decide what types of payments they will accept.
Over 1,500 people usually attend the event and Gesser received a lot of positive feedback from the community. “I have heard that people love to attend our fair because of the variety of vendors and that the addition of hot food has been great. They love being able to grab a bite to eat and shop all at once,” said Gesser.
Looking to the future Gesser discussed ways of expanding, “We’ve always wanted to add more vendors, but we fille the main floor to capacity a few years ago. However, starting this fall at the October 12th craft fair, we will be offering booths upstairs along the walking track! We are excited to give this a try!”
