Level Up at Your Library: Read, Participate, and Win Big!

by Laura Mischke, Bellevue Public Library Head of Adult Services
Take your library experience to the next level! From April 16 to May 28, the Bellevue Public Library invites you to “Level Up at Your Library” – a dynamic adult library program packed with discovery, adventure, and incredible prizes! Explore new ideas, challenge yourself, and connect with your community while earning chances to win amazing prizes.

It all starts with a simple step: register for the program and you’ll automatically be entered into a drawing for an Amazon gift card. But why stop there? Every time you read a book or attend a program, you’ll earn an entry into a grand prize drawing, where you could take home one of three incredible prizes: an Xbox Series X, a Nebraska Cornhusker fan package, or a Bellevue Bites package containing gift cards to your favorite Bellevue restaurants.
Of course, the real reward is the journey itself. Over the course of six weeks, the library will be hosting an exciting lineup of events designed to entertain, educate, and inspire. If you’re looking for a little relaxation, try a Tai Chi session or grab a take-home craft kit to unleash your creativity. Love a challenge? Test your skills in a spelling bee, a puzzle competition, or a LEGO-building showdown. Book lovers can dive into our Monday Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem Book Club or Leadership Book Club, while those with a passion for flavor can pick up a spice kit to experiment with new recipes at home.
As part of Level Up at Your Library, you can explore the library’s Makerspace, a creative workshop filled with cutting-edge technology. Learn how to design and print in 3D, create precision projects with a laser cutter, or produce stunning posters with a large-format printer. Craft enthusiasts can try their hand at the Cricut machine for custom vinyl and paper designs, experiment with an embroidery machine, or dive into countless other possibilities. Whether you’re a hobbyist, an entrepreneur, or just curious, the Makerspace is your gateway to innovation.

But the program isn’t just about fun – it’s about preparing for the future, too. Special sessions will focus on end-of-life planning, offering insights from a death doula, a funeral home representative, and a law office specializing in trusts and estate planning. And there are things to explore, such as how to crochet, making mocktails, cottage food options, henna art, gentle/chair yoga, and more.
Best of all, every program is completely free and open to everyone – no library card required. Whether you’re a lifelong learner, an occasional reader, or just someone looking for a new experience, there’s a place for you at the library this spring.
So why not take the challenge? Read more, try something new, and earn the chance to win big. The adventure begins April 16 – are you ready to Level Up?
