The Bellevue Police Department and the City of Bellevue have some exciting news to share.
Beginning this fall semester, the inaugural ‘Mayor’s Youth Council’ will be established and will
include high school students who live in Bellevue and attend Bellevue East, Bellevue West,
Bryan High School, Papillion La Vista High School, as well as private and home school high
school students. Students will be selected from all grade levels – freshman through senior.
Applications will be accessible online through the City of Bellevue webpage (www.bellevue.net),
as well as participating high schools. An advance copy of the application is included with this
article.

Selected students will hold regularly scheduled monthly meetings in the Bellevue City Council
Chambers on Tuesday evenings. They will provide guidance/perspective to the Bellevue City
Council on select topics, participate in community events, and other self-generated endeavors.
The term for the Youth Council is one year, but students who participate are encouraged to re-
apply. Applications will be taken annually in May after the inaugural year.

The deadline for applications is September 13th, with the first meeting scheduled to be held on
