This summer, the Gross Catholic Cougars are thrilled to be cheering on one of their own in the Olympics. A 2012 graduate, Dylan Travis will represent the United States at the 2024 Olympic Summer Games. Travis is one of four players on the national team squad for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. This will be the first time the U.S. ever had a 3×3 Olympic basketball team.

In high school, Travis played for the Gross Catholic Cougars at the Varsity level for four years and was named first-team All-State, All-Metro, and to the Lincoln Journal Star’s Super-State Team. Travis began his collegiate career at Midland University. He then transferred to Iowa Central Community College. He transferred a second time to Florida Southern, where he set school records and completed his degree in Education. Travis went on to play professional basketball overseas in Germany, Brazil, and Australia and eventually found his way back home to the U.S. He accepted a job as a special education teacher for Westside High School in Omaha, where he also helped coach the basketball team.
