This month we would like to showcase some of the fire apparatus you may see on the roads in Bellevue.

The first one is Engine 1.  Engine 1 is a 2022 Pierce Impel Pumper and is stationed in Old Towne at Station 1.  Engine 1 is staffed with a crew of 4 firefighters (Fire Officer, Engineer, 2 firefighters).  Engine 1 has a 2000 gallon per minute pump and holds 750 gallons of water.

The next one is Truck 31.  Truck 31 is stationed in the Northwest part of Bellevue at Station 3.  Truck 31 is staffed with a crew of 4 firefighters (Fire Officer, Engineer, 2 firefighters).  Truck 31 also has a 2000 gallon per minute pump but only holds 500 gallons of water.  The aerial ladder on Truck 31 can reach a height of 107 feet.

Both Engine 1 and Truck 31 carry Advanced Life Support equipment as well as many different sizes of fire hose and they also carry the Jaws of Life to help in extricating victims of car accidents.  The Advanced Life Support equipment allows firefighters to provide immediate care to a patient before a rescue squad arrives.  This can be very crucial during an emergency when seconds count.
