August 27 Event Will Feature Cosplay Photo Contest and Explore Presentations, Vendor Booths
Bellevue University’s Freeman Lozier Library will present the first-ever Bruin Con on Saturday, Aug. 27, 5-8 p.m. The free event will take place in the Margre H. Durham Student Center on the University’s main campus, 1008 Bruin Blvd., Bellevue, Nebraska 68005.
According to Bruin Con co-organizer Jessica Omer, the inaugural Bruin Con will “focus on comics, literature, media, and fandoms.” Co-organizer Alison Schafer, added that the free event will offer a number of different online and in-person events including panel presentations, streaming media, photo activities, and displays. Omer serves as the Library’s Senior Circulation Assistant and Schafer serves as the Library’s Resource Sharing Circulation Specialist.
A number of local businesses will have vendor booths for attendees to visit and purchase goods from.
One of the highlights of Bruin Con will be a cosplay costume photo contest. Content participants must register to participate in the contest and can do so when they RSVP online. Bruin Con attendees are not required to participate in cosplay, or costume play.
The entire event schedule is available online. Bruin Con entrance is free, but individuals must abide by the con rules and regulations.
