Mayor Rusty Hike and the City of Bellevue’s Public Works Department have announced that the City of Bellevue will be conducting Curbside Tree Debris Pickup starting on Monday, August 12, 2024, for Bellevue residents that may not be able to utilize the City’s drop-off locations.

The City of Bellevue is blessed with many trees of all sizes that enhance our neighborhoods and make our community such a beautiful place to live. Unfortunately, in wind events such as the July 31st storm, the city receives a lot of tree and utility damage. It has been the top priority of City crews to get the roads and right of ways cleared so the OPPD and Public Safety crews can get through the neighborhoods for power restoration and emergency calls. Bellevue Public Works crews have been working tirelessly on these efforts since the July 31st storm hit our area. This week crews will continue those efforts and concentrate on the city parks and trails that have received heavy tree damage.

OPPD crews are making significant progress on their power restoration efforts throughout our community and with cooler weather forecast for most of this week, Bellevue residents should be able to return to their homes and can assess damage and continue their cleanup efforts. The City of Bellevue will assist in those efforts by keeping the Haworth Park Tree Debris Drop-Off location open until further notice and crews will be starting curbside tree debris pickup efforts on Monday, August 12th.

Starting curbside cleanup efforts next week will allow all Bellevue residents to get their electricity back on, get back in their homes and take advantage of the forecasted cooler weather to clean up their properties in advance of curbside pickup.

These cleanup efforts will be conducted on your scheduled day of trash pickup. By 7am on the morning of your scheduled pickup date, the week of August 12 -16, Bellevue residents should place the tree-related debris that they would like to have picked up within 12 feet of the curb lines, without blocking sections of the sidewalks or streets. Debris should be cut to no more than 6 feet in length. Crews will go through each neighborhood one time and will not pick up tree debris larger than the stated dimensions or if vehicles are parked in front of the tree debris pile. Please note that our crews will not be able to make repairs to sod and landscaping that residents may have in the curbside right-of-way.

Please email [email protected] or call 402-293-3025 during business hours if you believe your area was missed. The City of Bellevue would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and efforts during this storm cleanup.
