Bellevue West High School Names New Head Coaches for Track and Field

Bellevue Public Schools and Bellevue West High School is pleased to announce the new head coaches for track and field.

Derrell Bradford will serve as the new head boys’ track and field coach beginning the 2024-25 school year.  Bradford was an assistant track and field coach at Bellevue West during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.  Before coaching at Bellevue West, Bradford was the head track coach at Omaha Northwest from 2014-2022 and currently is the head coach for Vibranium Track Club in Omaha.  Prior to coaching, Bradford was a Decathlete at the University of Nebraska from 2007-2010.

New Bellevue West Boys’ Track & Field Head Coach Derrell Bradford

Coach Bradford takes over for Epley Hamilton, who is resigning this year after serving as head coach the past 4 years.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Bradford as he will lead our boys’ track and field program with great passion and purpose, and thank you to Coach Hamilton for your time at Bellevue West,” said Jon Mauro, assistant principal/activities director.

Larissa Knudson will serve as the new head girls’ track and field coach for the 2024-25 school year.  Knudson has been teaching at Bellevue West for the past 6 years, and has been the head cross country coach since 2020.

Knudson is a foreign language teacher at Bellevue West and brings a wealth of knowledge from working with athletes over the past 15 years.

Knudson takes over for Paul Hamilton, who was the head coach the past 2 years.

“We would like to thank Coach Hamilton for his dedication to Bellevue Public Schools and are thrilled to have Coach Knudson leading the track and field program into next year,” said Jon Mauro, assistant principal/activities director.
