Bellevue West High School Names New Head Coaches for Boys’ & Girls’ Tennis
Bellevue Public Schools and Bellevue West High School is pleased to announce the new head coaches for boys’ and girls’ tennis.
Matt Lauritsen will serve as the new head boys’ tennis coach beginning this 2024-25 fall season. Coach Lauritsen has served as the assistant boys’ tennis coach for the past 10 years at Bellevue West.
Stattin Yates will serve as the new head girls’ tennis coach beginning this 2024-25 school year. Yates was previously the head tennis coach at Omaha Northwest High School for the past 4 years and was named the 2023 Metro Conference Tennis Coach of the Year.
Coach Lauritsen and Coach Yates take over for Steve Lemon who served as the head boys’ tennis coach since 1999 and the head girls’ tennis coach from 1999-2014 and 2023-2024 for a total of 43 tennis seasons.
“We’re excited to watch Coach Lauritsen and Coach Yates take over our tennis programs as both leaders have tremendous knowledge, passion, and purpose,” said Jon Mauro, assistant principal/activities director. “And we give a special thank you to Coach Lemon for all his years of coaching at Bellevue West.”
