Bellevue West High School Names New Head Baseball Coach
Bellevue Public Schools and Bellevue West High School are excited to announce the new head baseball coach.
Nick Schumacher will serve as the new head boys’ baseball coach beginning the 2025-26 season. Coach Schumacher has served as the head baseball coach at Omaha Roncalli Catholic High School since 2023 and serves as player development/general manager for Ultimate Baseball Academy since 2019. He also served as pitching coach at Bellevue West from 2021-2023. Coach Schumacher earned his bachelor degree at Wayne State College where he played baseball and earned Pitcher of the Year in 2006 and 2008, along with being an NCAA All American.
“I am truly honored to be a part of the Bellevue West family,” said Coach Schumacher. “This is a dream job and I can’t wait to get started; following in the footsteps of a great coach and friend makes it even more special.”
Coach Schumacher takes over for Jason Shockey who has served as the head baseball coach since 2019.
“We’re excited to watch Coach Schumacher take over our baseball program; he is a leader with great knowledge, passion, and purpose,” said Jon Mauro, assistant principal/activities director. “Thank you to Coach Shockey for his years of coaching at Bellevue West.”
