Those looking to get their Wendy’s fix may have to go elsewhere for a while. The Bellevue Wendy’s, located at 610 Galvin Road South, has been closed for the past few weeks.

The location is undergoing major renovations and should be sporting a new look when it reopens in 2025.

Omega Foods, the franchisee for this location, issued a statement: “We are in the process of remodeling this restaurant to fit the modern needs of our employees and customers. Updates include kitchen design and equipment upgrades to enable greater functionality and speed of service to our customers and a refreshed dining room complete with kiosks to meet the needs of our guests’ digital ordering preferences. We look forward to reopening in the new year!”

The Wendy’s on Galvin Road first opened for business in 1981, joining Long John Silvers (built two years earlier) as part of a food expansion in that part of town which eventually would include Runza as well as Church’s Chicken, TCBY Yogurt, and T.J. Cinnamons across the street.

Sarpy County records show that the Wendy’s building was purchased earlier this year for $1.5 Million by Wendys West Maple LLC.
