Bellevue University Men’s and Women’s Basketball to Host Final Home Games at New Arena

BELLEVUE, Neb. — The Bellevue University men’s and women’s basketball teams will host the final regular season home games of the 2024-25 season at BU’s newest venue, the Bellevue University Fieldhouse. In recognition of this momentous occasion, admission will be FREE to the public. The Bellevue University Fieldhouse is located at 2102 Harvell Circle.

The Bruins will battle Valley City State University on Friday, Feb. 14, beginning at 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men). Saturday’s doubleheader against Mayville State University will commence at 3 p.m. The Bruin seniors for both squads will be honored in between games on Saturday.

The 72,000-square-foot state-of-the-art building will provide seating for over 1,000 on gameday. Other building highlights include a practice gym, top-tier athletic training facility, weight room, conditioning center, student-athlete lounge, indoor golf practice room and simulator, A/V production room for analyzing game film, locker rooms with enhanced video/technology integration, and a Hall of Fame room.

Athletic Director Ed Lehotak said, “We think it’s going to be a game changer. Our coaches have always been solid recruiters, but we feel this is going to take recruiting to a whole different level.”

“This state-of-the-art facility is a major step in our strategic facilities plan,” said Bellevue University President Mary Hawkins. “It opens up opportunities for us to enhance and expand student services and resources for our students who learn on campus and those who learn online.”
