Grant funds will be utilized to improve staff access to professional learning opportunities, and increase family engagement and community outreach activities. Each school in the district will receive new PE equipment and supplies to incorporate into their classrooms. Grant funds will provide each elementary school with an outdoor fitness course and indoor traverse climbing walls. Elementary PE teachers will integrate these new structures into our current curriculum. The district will also use grant funds to install an inclusive playground at two elementary schools to support the needs of students with severe disabilities. Middle schools will receive new PE equipment, supplies, and an outdoor fitness gym. High schools will receive funds to purchase new equipment and supplies for the various physical education classes taught at each school.

“Bellevue Public Schools is honored for the opportunity to once again partner with DoDEA to support Project Shape UP,”  said Dr. Jeff Rippe, Superintendent. This exciting project will improve instruction, increase engagement, and encourage an active lifestyle for all BPS students!”
