His Legacy Continues
Earlier this month, the Bellevue Police Department lost one of their own. No, not in the traditional sense of this statement – but an honorary member of the Department – and one who impacted more in his ten short years on this earth than most do in a full lifetime. Leevi Johnson was a special young man who battled illness his entire life, but he did not let that battle weigh him down. Leevi was always positive, energetic, inquisitive, and a joy to be around. Leevi loved law enforcement, and we loved him back. We all did.
Levi was sworn in as an Honorary Bellevue Police Officer on February 15th, 2019. He was active as an Honorary Officer and participated in numerous Bellevue Police Department events – including leading the Arrows to Aerospace Parade in 2019. He was so interested in policing that he began a world-wide police patch collection in 2018. He lived and breathed the traits that make great officers – and he made us all better.
Leevi was taken too soon from this world. We at the Bellevue Police Department are better for having had the pleasure and honor of being associated with him. Thank you to him for his dedication and commitment to policing, and to his family for making the time for us. He will be missed more than you know.
Rest in peace young man.
