Bellevue Police Investigate Late Night Shooting

On Thursday, March 13th, 2025, at approximately 10:26 p.m., Bellevue Police Officers responded to an apartment building in the 1400 block of south Galvin Road regarding shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located a twenty-one (21) year old male, who had sustained a gunshot wound(s). Officers and Bellevue Fire personnel performed lifesaving measures,  and the male was transported by rescue squad to a metro area hospital. The male later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The deceased individual has been identified as George Negrete of Bellevue. 

During the investigation, officers learned that the deceased male had been involved in a physical altercation with a twenty-three (23) year old male, who was not on scene at the time officers arrived. The other male involved was located at a nearby residence and detained without incident. It was determined that this individual had also sustained injuries from the altercation, and he was then transported to a metro area hospital as well. The extent of this individual’s injuries is still unknown at this time. This incident is still under investigation, and it is believed that all parties involved have been accounted for.
