The Bellevue Food Pantry doesn’t take a summer break – our door stays open all year long. We serve about 800 individuals each month, both in-person and through food delivery services. We provide food with no judgment, and we focus on serving our clients with respect and compassion.
Our current space at 1912 Hancock Street creates several challenges, however. We serve the entirety of Sarpy County, and we have only 1,000 square feet of pantry space and one small office.
We have a plan in place to solve our space concerns. The Bellevue Public Library is moving to the Bellevue Professional Center, and leaves behind a larger space that can be renovated to perfectly fit our needs.
The future Bellevue Food Pantry location at 1003 Lincoln Road will be a much larger and more accessible facility that will serve as a community hub, a true gathering space where people in crisis can get nourishment, connections to community resources, and hope for the future.
We envision a space where people can choose their own food, including fresh produce, milk, and dairy products, just like they would at the grocery store. “We have a great need in our community, and we need to meet that demand with an expanded facility,” pantry manager Deanna Wagner said.
The Bellevue Food Pantry is conducting a survey about our impending move to try to gather as much community input as possible. We would love to get your feedback! Please complete our survey by clicking here. “Getting feedback from the community we serve will help us align with providing the best service to those who need it for years to come,” Wagner said. “We are truly grateful for all the support from the Bellevue community as we move to the next phase of this project in order to better serve Bellevue.”
