The Greater Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Candidate Forum on Monday, April 11th at Bellevue University. The forum will take place at Criss Auditorium inside the Hitchcock Humanities Center. The forum is an opportunity for residents and community members to learn about candidates that are running for city and county offices. The audience will be given a chance to submit questions prior to the start of the program. Forum check-in is at 6:00 pm with the program starting at 6:30 pm. It is scheduled to run for two hours. According to the Chamber, time will determine how many questions a candidate will be able to answer.
All three candidates running for Mayor of Bellevue will be in attendance as well as candidates running for Clerk of the County Court and County Treasurer.
Chamber President Michelle Andahl set the date of the Candidate Forum to align with early voter registration. “The May 10th Primary election is just over a month away and at the Chamber, we believe it is important for our members and city residents to have a chance to learn about the candidates at the most local levels that want to represent them. The Candidate Forum is scheduled for the day that early voting starts statewide, providing voters an opportunity to make an informed decision when casting their vote anytime from April 11 through May 10th.”
