Bellevue Chamber of Commerce Back in Business
Diane Bruce Named Interim President
The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday that Diane Bruce will officially be serving as Interim Chamber President. This announcement comes after a period of uncertainty amid the resignation of former Chamber President Michelle Andahl.
Chamber operations abruptly stopped in December of 2022 and many current members were encouraged to join the Sarpy County Chamber. However, in a statement released by the Bellevue Chamber, Board Member John McVay said, “There has been much discussion about the future of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. Many of us local residents and business owners believe in the value of a local chamber.”
Bruce is the founder and former co-owner of B & B Classic Dogs, a popular restaurant and arcade that was located near the Bellevue Public Library. In the past, Bruce also served on the Chamber as a board member and was recognized as the Chamber Ambassador of the Year for her work in promoting Bellevue and Bellevue Businesses.
Bruce said her first order of business is to get out in front of the members, introduce herself, and see how The Chamber can help them.
“The Bellevue Chamber was a huge asset to us when we had B & B Classic Dogs. So when they decided to shut down, it was hard to fathom a city the size of Bellevue not having a resource for their businesses,” Bruce said. “I have been in Bellevue since 1988 and have grown to love this city. I know how much the Chamber helped our business and others in the community, so I am hoping do the same for our members.”
