TED Democracy Philadelphia: Founding Futures is a nationwide event taking place during America’s 250th anniversary year that brings communities together to explore the future of democracy, civic participation, leadership, and public life through original TED Talks and local discussions.
On Saturday, June 13, Bellevue University’s Freeman/Lozier Library will serve as Nebraska’s only library host site for the event and one of just 65 host locations nationwide.
The free public event will include a livestream of a featured portion of the national TED Democracy Philadelphia program taking place in Philadelphia. The livestream session, tentatively scheduled from 10–11:30 a.m. Central Time, will feature original TED Talks focused on civic participation, leadership, governance, and the future of democracy.
Following the livestream, Bellevue University faculty will lead an interactive panel discussion exploring civic leadership, education, engaged citizenship, and how America’s founding principles continue to shape public life today.
The event is free and open to the public, and community members throughout Nebraska are encouraged to attend.
