BELLEVUE, Neb. — The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce & Community will host Nebraska’s Official Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Olde Towne Bellevue, beginning at 10 a.m.
The annual parade is one of Bellevue’s longest-running community traditions, celebrating and honoring the men and women who have dedicated their lives to defending our freedom.
“This is a long-standing tradition in Bellevue to show our military community our appreciation for them and all they’ve sacrificed for our country,” said Diane Bruce, President & CEO of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce & Community.
Grand Marshal: Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Richard Casey
Leading this year’s parade is Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Richard Casey, whose distinguished 27-year Air Force career included service as a Law Enforcement Specialist, B-52 Defensive Aerial Gunner, Instructor Gunner, First Sergeant, and Command Chief Master Sergeant at both the 55th Wing and the Eighth Air Force.
As a B-52 “Tail Gunner,” Chief Casey logged more than 2,500 flight hours across the B-52 D, G, and H models. He was selected to the initial cadre of instructors for the Enlisted Aviation Undergraduate School, which trained enlisted personnel for flying specialties. Assigned to Headquarters, Strategic Air Command in 1986, he became the first Command Fighter Intercept Manager.
In 1991, Chief Casey flew 13 combat missions over Iraq and earned two Air Medals for his service during Operation Desert Storm. Later, as Command Chief Master Sergeant for the Eighth Air Force, he oversaw enlisted development, morale, and readiness for bomber and intelligence units worldwide.
Since retiring from the Air Force, Chief Casey has remained active in the Bellevue community and currently serves as President of the Bellevue City Council.
Parade Details
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. with the National Anthem and proceed east down Mission Avenue, featuring entries from local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and veteran organizations. The event is free and open to the public, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots.
Continuing a Proud Tradition
Last year’s Veterans Day Parade drew hundreds of spectators to Olde Towne Bellevue, as the community lined Mission Avenue to wave flags, cheer local veterans, and celebrate Bellevue’s deep military ties. This year’s event continues that spirit of gratitude and unity.
